6 Social Media Trends to look forward this 2022

There are a lot of trends going on this year, and it’s fascinating! Technology and social media dominated our lives. Well, it is because technology brings convenience to all of us, while social media helps us maintain social connections and access more information than ever before.

As we start a new year, here are some social media trends to look forward to:

  1. Tiktok will continue to dominate the social media space

Tiktok first became popular globally last 2020. Tiktok, a short-term video platform is poised to continue its dominance in the social media space. So why did Tiktok become popular? Well, aside from we enjoy watching unique content, people’s attention span for videos got shortened to 8 seconds. The more short videos (and straight to the point) they get to watch, the more they’re interested.

2. The rise of creators

Creators are like influencers but not all influencers can be creators. (Will create a different post about this soon!) Creators are content creators who create educational, entertaining, or inspirational content that meets the interests and solves a specific problem for a specific audience.

3. Video content will continue to monopolize

Video content on other platforms like Reels on Instagram will continue to be popular this year. So, if you’re a business owner it’s best to start getting used to create videos to attract and bring traffic to your brand.

4. Augmented Reality (AR) will become more mainstream

As technology rises, AR will become consumers’ preferred way to try- on products & interact with brands. Because some people, before they purchase something, they want to fit it. While this pandemic is still ongoing, this is a great way to try it- on even you’re at home before purchasing something.

5. The increase in the use of social media for customer service

As businesses go online and people tend to be on social media more, you need to make sure also that you have great customer service. If you want customer satisfaction, happy customers will recommend your business to others like their friends through word of mouth or social media reviews.

To help you use your social media channels in this “new” way, it can be a good idea to create templates for FAQs (for posting and/ on Instagram, you can put it in your highlights) and invest in a chatbot to boost your response time.

6. User-generated content (UGC) will continue to be popular

One of the top benefits of UGC is that it serves as social proof. Real people saying nice about your products/ services increases your credibility, builds trust, shows authenticity, and also it can build an emotional connection with your audience.
